Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible moms out there AND to the millions of family caregivers who, because of your roles become mothers!
For this special day, Keeping It REAL Caregiving welcomes author, poet, chef, and friend, Vic Coletto.
He put thoughts and feelings to paper, to share words of wisdom for all of us who care for others.
It is a reminder of how the sands of time shift and change. It is a touching reminder of how our roles often reverse.
Shifting sands of time & care roles
In this video version of the poem, Playing in the Sand, I chose to also include flowers as well as the calm and peacefulness of ocean water swirling against sand. That is because my mother absolutely loved flowers.
What comes to mind when you think of your mother? What does she (or did she) love about living life?
So on this Mother’s Day I would like to extend a warm hug to all women.
For those who have children.
For those who have pets or plants.
For those who have close sisters and friends.
And for those who by fate, are now mothers to their mothers, fathers and/or other loved ones - THANK YOU!
Make this day (and week ahead) a time to celebrate YOU. And let us all celebrate each other.
And THANK YOU Vic for your passion for living life and sharing your talents with the world!
