Telling Impactful Stories at the Intersections of Aging, Equity, Caregiving, the Environment and Advocacy
Our event: Join a panel of leaders in the aging industry as they share foundational concepts journalists of all ages must know, to effectively cover aging in America — the story impacting millions of American families.
The U.S. Census Bureau, projects by 2030 all baby boomers will be age 65. By 2034, older adults are projected to outnumber those 18 and younger for the first time in U.S. history.
AARP estimates 53 million Americans already serve as unpaid family caregivers.
This session will explore ‘aging’ stories across housing, transportation, health care, caregiving, employment and climate. Racial inequities and systematic racism often compound these growing societal challenges.

Call to Action
Here’s where all of you come in: Do you have topics and/or issues you believe would be helpful to have greater media coverage of? I invite you to share them with KIRC.
Myself and fellow panel members will offer up several concepts which we believe could result in insightful stories for journalists to dig into.
I can’t guarantee such stories would be pursued and/or published, but my goal is to at least get some of these issues in front of more journalists with the hope that will happen.
These are exciting times, indeed!
Until next time~
Julia
