U.S. News & World Report Webinar
Measuring Health Equity: Building a U.S. News Health Equity Index for Hospitals and Health Systems
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM -Eastern
We’ve mentioned this event previously, but for those of you entering the caregiving space, one arena which is beneficial to understand is how hospital policy and procedure can impact the care we receive.

The more clarity you have as a patient and/or client regarding how your local hospital recognizes and incorporates equity into its policies and practices, the better prepared you can be.
Event Description: In the summer of 2021, U.S. News debuted several measures examining disparities in healthcare services provided to people of different races and ethnicities. Those novel measures are a subset of a portfolio of equity measures under development by U.S. News. In this interactive session, U.S. News editors and analysts will highlight key findings from their recent analysis, describe additional equity measures under consideration, and discuss how equity measures may be incorporated into the Best Hospitals rankings going forward. Following a presentation, questions and input from audience members will be invited.
2. Wednesday, January 26, 2022
Encore.org Webinar
Is Generational Conflict a Myth? An Encore.org conversation with author Bobby Duffy.
10:00 AM Pacific
KIRC is looking forward to this event for a number of reasons. I love the idea of connecting all of us virtually to talk about how we can learn and grow across generations.
Also, think about conversations you have had with individuals one or two generations older than yourselves OR what you can learn when speaking with those who are much younger than you.
Some of my most intriguing conversations and learning lessons have come from those in their 80’s and 90’s.
Event Description: In his latest book, The Generation Myth, author Bobby Duffy offers a new take on how generations form, how they shape societies, and why generational differences aren’t as sharp as we think…
3. Online and Ongoing
I remember when even the thought of receiving an AARP application (or card) in the mail was… well… just NOT something I would go around sharing with others!
How times have changed. I started reading the magazine and visiting the website once I began caring for my mother. That’s when I realized the depth and breadth of information and resources available.
Keep in mind, as caregivers we must also consider our own growth, both personal and professional.

PASSAGES Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP) Medicare Counseling Events Welcome to Medicare Webinar series
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Pacific
Event Description: Oftentimes understanding the different parts of Medicare, when to enroll, and which type of care is not covered by Medicare can seem complicated. In this Workshop, we provide a decision support path that guides those aging into Medicare with understanding the options available to them, and where to get help with their decision-making.
