KIRC delivers YOUR intel directly to state advocacy agencies
Hello KIRC fam!
This is going to be a short post. I’m delivering this through the app while on the move (so please forgive any typos or link issues) but I wanted to get this to you.
I told you last week that I had meetings scheduled with several state-level agencies within the aging field.
One has incredible influence on a national level. The other is a California state entity within the California Department of Aging.
Both meetings went extremely well.
An item that was discussed was how best to get as much useful information to caregivers as possible.
Because here’s the deal: there are TONS of articles, programs, webinars, and support groups that exist to serve this purpose but many people STILL don’t seek it out until they are in a crisis. Therefore, it is an ongoing effort to assist and educate others.
Many times caregivers are simply too overwhelmed to look for info - OR - in many cases you don’t even realize you are a caregiver. You might feel it is simply your duty to care for an aging loved one. End result? You feel alone and lost wondering what to do and how to get help.
I offer this as a suggestion: how about YOU tell KIRC exactly what would help you the most OR ask specific questions you need answered.
Because each family and situation is different, it can be tough to sift through all the available information on your own.
But, if YOU submit YOUR specific needs, concerns, questions, lived experiences, knowledge, etc… we (KIRC alongside various agencies) might be able to improve the chances that we are delivering valuable Nuggets of Knowledge with more precision and accuracy. Rather than being talked ‘at’ you can take charge and ask us. How does that sound?
So let me hear from you!
